A new audiobook is on the way.

So, here's the story:

About a month ago, I decided to give audiobooks a try and create one for my latest title Subterfuge. Although I have some experience diddling with audio production, I decided to let a pro handle it since this will be my first real production. It's about halfway through and no severe headaches have yet to occur. He's really doing a awesome job. I'm using ACX for this venture and things are looking (sounding) good.

The narrator I chose is Dennis R Davis a 40-year radio and television production veteran located here in Illinois. He has a modest voice which I felt was a good candidate for my first going in this particular medium. So far I haven't been proven wrong. We're slated to finish around May 1st, so if all goes well, you'll be able to find Subterfuge in audiobook on Audible sometime in May.

So you can have more of an idea of what's coming, here's what David said about Subterfuge and his approach to the work:

"So far, I'm enjoying the book. I usually go into the studio to lay down the audio for a chapter or two - but I get so intrigued by the plot that I end up doing six or seven because I want to know what's going to happen and how it will turn out audio wise.
But overall, I'm having fun with it..."

If you'd like to hear some of David's prior work you can find him in the Producer registry on ACX, or just visit this link.
If you've never used Audible before have a look. There are a small handful of major venues which sell audiobooks and Audible is without a doubt the largest, as all who frequent the web already know. Later on in the future, I'll get this title over to other venues once possible.

Bandwidth for all!

In other news, I recently added a CDN for the small number of you who visit my site who are overseas. It's an inexpensive addon, but I'll have to wait a bit to see what becomes of it. Since I'm only serving links to my books and a few images not much bandwidth is actually needed but as we know, every little bit helps. Hopefully viewership and ultimately readership will pick up.

For those who don't know, a CDN is mostly a relay or additional server for your website. What most providers aim to do is cache your website and relay it overseas or to other far-off regions, hopefully with the benefit of speed or bandwidth in order to improve those, in those regions experience.

I've actually made friends with a couple of you in the UK who visit the site and so far, no one's complained. Hopefully this will help those who'd like to visit the site but just can't because of a lousy connection. Simple courtesy, that's all.

A Vampire's Tale

Coming up next is A Vampire's Tale which is still in the works. I'm in the final phases of the story and things for our heroes Durante and Cecily are getting tight. If you haven't already, visit here or here for a free sample and to learn more of the story.
Lastly, here's a free pass for anyone with the idea of promoting any books revolving around investigations. It's a bit amateur as the title incurs, but we do what we must until we learn to do better. If you can use this in your promotions, feel free and happy hunting.
That's all for now. I know this was a bit varied, but I promised a few folks that I would dig up some news about what I've been up to lately. I hope this was a pretty decent showing. I think so at least.

I'll see you in a couple of months once the Subterfuge audiobook releases.

As always thanks for your patronage and for being a subscriber,

Omar
